Elderly

Care Of The Elderly People
In this day and age, many countries have established  residential home and nursing homes in order to look after old people. It claimed that elderly need more cares about their food, health and emotion care. This blog will answer question about elderly.
Q1) Who looks after elderly people in your culture ?
In Qatar, Sons and daughters look after their elderly parents, and some pepole
in my country when sons and daughters all go to work, they bring a nurse to take care and look after elderly care such as medicine, feed system and exercise .
Q2) Who pays for care for the elderly in your culture ?
It is clear that in the state of Qatar, the government pay for elderly people for every piece, medicine, food, special bed at home, wheel-chair and all the equipment. Also, the period of staying at any hospital private or public is paid by the government .
Q3)Who should pay for care for the elderly ?
In my point of view, the government must pay for care for the elderly because this is elderly right  as citizen. In addition, payment should include both level of people poor and rich which will be fair .
Q4) What are the differences / who pays for care for the elderly between the UK and your country?
It can be seen there are many differences between the UK and Qatar. First of all, the government in Qatar pay for all people wether they are rich or poor. On the other hand, exactly in the UK if a person has less than 23500£ pound in bank account so the person does not pay, but, if a person has more than 23500£ pound they must pay monthly 3000£ for a place where they look after elderly. Also, due the culture in many cases in Qatar people live longer with their parents until they reach the age of 30 or 35 which is the opposite of UK culture where they left home at the age of 18, so living with elderly in same house encourage and motivated sons and daughter  to look after them and keep updating with them. In Qatar it is known that government pay for elderly and in rare cases sons pay for an extra.Only those needing residential care who have assets of less than £23,250 (excluding the value of their home) will be able to get their local council to pay the costs. For example, it means someone with £50,000 in the bank when they enter a care home will have to pay the bills as they come in until that has been reduced to £23,250. Only then will they be able to defer the costs.
Labour peer Lord Lipsey believes this is such a significant loophole that it amounts to a "sabotaging" of the safeguards(BBC).
